This green breakfast smoothie is the simplest smoothie recipe you’ll find, yet its delicious, filling and packed with nutrients. With a combination of fruit, yoghurt and a handful of spinach, you’ve got calcium, vitamins and a bit of protein to help kick start the system. Plus, it tastes great!
The best part is that it feels light going in, but is filling enough to get me going – and trust me, I need the energy. My toddler boy goes from zero to sixty before 7am!
INGREDIENTS (makes 1 meal sized or 2 sides):
1/2 CUP PLAIN YOGHURT
1/2 CUP FROZEN FRUIT – I use frozen berries and peaches, use whatever you like best.
1 HANDFUL SPINACH
In blender, combine the yoghurt, banana and frozen fruit until well blended. Add one large handful of spinach and blend for 1 minute.
*Note: your smoothie won’t necessarily look this green, it depends on the vibrancy of colour of the other fruit you use.
