Basil Pesto Recipe
Pesto in my house is a favourite for pastas, as a spread for paninis or even as an accompaniment for fish and its always made fresh!
This time of year basil grows like a weed in the planters on our balcony and in our plot at the community garden. So pesto is on order multiple times per week…
This is my super simple, bright green and delicious basil pesto recipe that you’re sure to love for it’s combination of fresh sweet basil and garlicky undertones.
Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS (Makes 1 cup)
2 CUPS BASIL LEAVES
1/2 CUP GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE
1/2 CUP OIL – I use Canola or Olive Oil
1/3 CUP NUTS – I usually use walnuts since I almost always have them on hand
2 TBSP CHOPPED GARLIC – 3-4 cloves depending on the size
SALT AND PEPPER – to taste
DIRECTIONS
Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until well combined (but not too long that you loose the texture) – approximately 2 minutes.
